AZORES - EUROPE’S WILD ATLANTIC PARADISE

The Azores are nine volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic. Raw nature and dramatic landscapes shape every moment here. It remains one of Europe’s last true hidden gems.

São Miguel – the green heart of the Azores

São Miguel is the largest and most diverse island. Crater lakes, mountains and open ocean views define its atmosphere. It is the perfect base for surfing, exploring and experiencing some of Europe’s wildest landscapes and richest biodiversity.

SURFING IN SAO MIGUEL - SANTA BARBARA

Santa Bárbara is one of the island’s best beach breaks. Conditions change daily, so we adapt each session to the safest and best waves. It’s the ideal spot for steady progression and confident riding.

Ocean and water temperature

Water stays between 18 and 22 degrees throughout the year. A 3/2 wetsuit keeps every session warm and comfortable. Hot springs after surfing complete the experience.

Dolphins and Whale watching

The waters around São Miguel host bottlenose dolphins and many other species. You can also spot sei whales, sperm whales and humpbacks during migration. It’s one of the Atlantic’s richest marine corridors.

Our surf camp experience

This is more than a surf trip; it is a full island journey. You stay in a cosy, friendly surf house designed for surfers from around the world. We combine surfing, yoga and exploration in a relaxed, supportive environment.

São Miguel’s highlights

A full week of surfing, exploring and recharging on São Miguel is waiting for you. The island changes scenery every day, from volcanic valleys to high viewpoints. We explore Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo by electric bike for the full experience. And the optional pontoon marine tour brings you close to wild marine life for those who want this additional adventure.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN YOUR SURF PACKAGE ?

♡ 7 nights with breakfast in a great surf house next to Santa Barbara (the surf house offers dinners as optional for 15 EUR)

♡ 5 surf lessons (we will set up 1 lesson per day but as we will surf in the middle of the Atlantic the swell and wind might require to organise 2 surf lessons per day and 1 day full of island exploration trips ) with the best local surf school

♡ 5 daily yoga practises with a certified coach

♡ 3 video recordings and surf analysis

♡ 1 day off for a van road trip to Sete Cidades, Lagoa Azul / Verde e-bike ride 40 EUR (Vista do Rei (Kings View, top of the Volcano Crater of Sete Cidades Sete Cidades Green and Blue Lakes Sete Cidades Village Sete Cidades Church Santiago Lake) and the sunset from one of the most iconic view points on the rooftop ruins of and old abandoned hotel Monte Palace

♡ 1 Marine Life Escapade (does not include the cost of the boat entrance ticket) - Dolphins and Whales Pontoon Trip on the Western part of the island (in the very early morning) or to the Southern shore (in the evening) - TBC with guests

♡ group airport transfers 5:00 PM on the arrival and 11:00 AM on the departure day

Waterfalls and forest trails

Salto do Prego and Ribeira dos Caldeirões are island classics. Lush forest paths lead to fresh natural pools.
They reveal São Miguel’s tropical, wild side.

Local culture and island flavours

Tea plantations, pineapple farms and a local winery are part of the journey. You can taste traditions found only in the Azores.
